The Patrick Gallagher (DDG 127) is the 77th Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer and the first ship in the United States Navy named in honor of Marine Corps Cpl. Patrick Gallagher (1944-1967), who received the Navy Cross for heroism during the Vietnam War.

March 30, 2022 The keel authentication ceremony for the future USS Patrick Gallagher was held at the Bath Iron Works shipyard.

July 27, 2024 The Pre-Commissioning Unit (PCU) Patrick Gallagher was christened during an 11 a.m. EDT ceremony at Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine. Teresa Gallagher Keegan, Rosemarie Gallagher and Pauline Gallagher, the sisters of the ship's namesake, served as sponsors of the ship. Cmdr. Matthew E. Dryden is the prospective commanding officer.

October 15, The Pre-Commissioning Unit (PCU) Patrick Gallagher was launched from a floating dry-dock and moored at Pier 2 on Bath Iron Works shipyard.
