The Beloit (LCS 29) is the 15th ship in the Freedom-class littoral combat ships and the first ship in the United States Navy to be named after Beloit, Wisconsin. July 22, 2020 The keel authentication ceremony for the future-USS Beloit was held at the Fincantieri Marinette Marine Corp. shipyard in Marinette, Wisconsin. May 7, 2022 The Pre-Commissioning Unit (PCU) Beloit was christened and launched during a 10 a.m. CST ceremony at Marinette Marine shipyard. The Army Maj. Gen. Marcia M. Anderson (Ret.) served as sponsor of the ship. June 29, 2024 PCU Beloit returned to Marinette shipyard after a two-day underway for Builder's (Alpha) trials on Lake Michigan; Underway again from July 15-17; Day-long underway for acceptance trials on Sept. 9. September 30, U.S. Navy accepted delivery of the PCU Beloit during a brief ceremony aboard the ship at Marinette Marine shipyard. November 16, PCU Beloit, commanded by Cmdr. Le Andra N. Kissinger, departed Marinette, Wisc., for the last time en route to Mayport, Florida; Moored at McKinley Marina lakefront on Veteran's Park in Milwaukee, Wisc., from Nov. 17-25. November 23, USS Beloit was commissioned during a 10 a.m. CST ceremony at Veteran's Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. November 26, USS Beloit transited the Strait of Mackinac eastbound; Transited the Detroit River southbound on Nov. 27; Moored at Dock 28W in Port of Cleveland, Ohio, from Nov. 28- Dec. 1; Completed the northbound transit of Welland Canal, just before midnight, on Dec. 2. December 5, The Beloit moored at Wharf 21 in Port of Quebec, Canada, for a three-day visit; Moored at HMC Dockyard Jetty NB3 in Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Halifax, Nova Scotia, from Dec. 11-13; Anchored at Lynnhaven Anchorage "C," approx. 3 n.m. off the coast of Little Creek, Va., for an overnight stop on Dec. 15; Moored at Pier 17N in Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story for a brief stop on Dec. 16. December 19, USS Beloit moored at Wharf C2 in its homeport of Naval Station Mayport for the first time; Moved to Wharf E3, outboard the USS Indianapolis (LCS 17), on Dec. 30. January 24, 2025 Cmdr. Gary J. Bickel relieved Cmdr. Le Andra N. Kissinger as the 2nd CO of Beloit during a change-of-command ceremony aboard the ship. March 21, USS Beloit moved from Echo Wharf to Wharf D3, outboard the USS Wichita (LCS 13), on Naval Station Mayport; Moored at Wharf D3 on March 2?; Moved to Wharf E2 on Aug. 1. September 12, Capt. Wade K. Smith relieved Capt. Mark W. Haney as Commander, Littoral Combat Ship Squadron (LCSRON) 2 during a change-of-command ceremony on board the Beloit. December 3, USS Beloit moved from Echo Wharf to Wharf D2, outboard the USS Minneapolis-St. Paul (LCS 21), on Naval Station Mayport; Underway in the Jacksonville Op. Area, after piersided for 12 months, from Dec. 8-12. January 26, 2026 USS Beloit moored at Wharf A2 on Naval Station Mayport after a five-day underway in the Jacksonville Op. Area; Underway again on Feb. 2. February ?, USS Beloit moored outboard the USS Cooperstown (LCS 23) at Wharf E2 on Naval Station Mayport; Moved to Wharf D1, outboard the USS Billings (LCS 15), on March 2; Moved to Wharf C2 on March 9; Moved to Wharf B2 for a brief stop before underway again on March 10; Returned home on March 11. March 20, The Beloit moored at Wharf A2 on Naval Station Mayport after a two-day underway in the Jacksonville Op. Area; Underway again from March 25-26; Underway for Combat Systems Ship's Qualification Trials (CSSQT), in the Virginia Capes Op. Area, on March 30. April 6, LCS 29 moored at Berth 5, Pier 4 on Naval Station Norfolk for a four-day port call; Moored at Wharf C1 on April 14; Moved to Wharf D3 on April 15. May 29, Cmdr. Jason C. DeJesus relieved Cmdr. Gary J. Bickel as CO of the Beloit during a change-of-command ceremony on board the ship. May 31, USS Beloit departed Naval Station Mayport for CSSQT, in the Virginia Capes Op. Area; Moored at Wharf D3 for a brief stop on June 10; Moored at Wharf E1 on June 11. |
