The Ted Stevens (DDG 128) is the 78th Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer and the first ship in the United States Navy named in honor of Ted F. Stevens (1923-2010), an American politician and lawyer who served as as a U.S. Senator for Alaska for over 40 years.

March 9, 2022 The keel authentication ceremony for the future USS Ted Stevens was held at Ingalls Operations shipyard in Pascagoula, Miss.

August 9, 2023 The Pre-Commissioning Unit (PCU) Ted Stevens was launched from a floating dry-dock and moored at Ingalls West Bank Yard South Wharf.

August 19, PCU Ted Stevens was christened during a 9 a.m. CDT ceremony at Ingalls West Bank in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Mrs. Catherine A. Stevens, Mrs. Susan S. Covich and Mrs. Lily I. Becker, the wife and daughters of the ship's namesake, served as sponsors. Capt. Mary Katey Hays is the prospective commanding officer.
