The Jeremiah Denton (DDG 129) is the 79th Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer and the first ship in the United States Navy named in honor of retired Rear Admiral and former U.S. Senator Jeremiah A. Denton, Jr., (1924-2014).

August 16, 2022 The keel authentication ceremony for the future USS Jeremiah Denton was held at Ingalls Operations shipyard in Pascagoula, Miss.

March 25, 2025 The Pre-Commissioning Unit (PCU) Jeremiah Denton was launched from a floating dry-dock and moored at Ingalls West Bank Yard South Wharf.

June 28, PCU Jeremiah Denton was christened during a 9 a.m. CDT ceremony at Ingalls West Bank in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Madeleine Denton Doak and Mary Denton Lewis, daughters of the ship's namesake, served as sponsors.
