The Kingsville (LCS 36) is the 18th ship in the Independence-class littoral combat ships and the first ship in the U.S. Navy named in honor of the city of Kingsville, Texas.

February 23, 2022 The keel authentication ceremony for the future USS Kingsville was held at the Austal USA shipyard in Mobile, Alabama.

March 23, 2023 The Kingsville exited the assembly bay #4 at Austal's facility for the first time and was transported down river, while sitting on a deck barge, to BAE Systems Southeast shipyard's floating dry-dock; Launched and moored at Combined Wharf on March 27.

April 22, The Pre-Commissioning Unit (PCU) Kingsville was christened during a 10 a.m. CST ceremony at Austal USA shipyard in Mobile. Ms. Katherine Kline served as sponsor of the ship.

November 19, PCU Kingsville returned to Austal USA shipyard, just before midnight, after underway for Builder's (Alpha) trials.

January 11, 2024 LCS 36 moored at Vessel Completion Yard on Austal USA shipyard after a day-long underway in the Gulf of Mexico; Brief underway on Jan. 18; Underway for acceptance trials from Jan. 31- Feb. 1.

March 1, U.S. Navy accepted delivery of the PCU Kingsville during a short ceremony aboard the ship.

August 1, PCU Kingsville moored at Vessel Completion Yard on Austal USA shipyard after a two-day underway in the Gulf of Mexico; Underway again on Aug. 15; Moored at Ortiz Center Berth 2 in downtown Corpus Christi, Texas, from Aug. 18-26.

August 24, USS Kingsville was commissioned during a 10 a.m. CDT ceremony at Port of Corpus Christi.

August 28, The Kingsville, commanded by Cmdr. Ludwig Mann, III, moored at Vessel Completion Yard on Austal USA shipyard; Underway in the Gulf of Mexico from Aug. 29- Sept. 1; Underway en route to San Diego, Calif., on Sept. 4; Transited the Yucatan Channel southbound on Sept. 6; Participated in a PHOTOEX with the Colombian Navy ships, while underway approx. 40 n.m. northwest of Cartagena, on Sept. 9.

September 10, USS Kingsville moored at Pier 16E, Port of Cristobal in Colon, Panama, for a one-day stop to refuel; Tansited the Panama Canal southbound on Sept. 11; Moored at Cruise Pier in Port of Manzanillo, Mexico, to refuel from Sept. 18-19.

September 23, USS Kingsville moored at Berth 2, Pier 6 in its homeport of Naval Base San Diego for the first time; Moved to Berth 5, Pier 13 on Nov. 4; Moved back to Berth 2, Pier 6 on Nov. 13.

December 19, The Kingsville moored at Berth 6, Pier 5 on Naval Base San Diego after a 10-day underway in the SOCAL Op. Area.

February 10, 2025 USS Kingsville moored at Bravo Pier on Naval Air Station North Island for a brief stop to onload ammo before underway in the SOCAL Op. Area; Moored at Quay Wall 3 on Feb. 14; Underway again on March 3; Brief stop at Navy Fuel Farm (NFF) to refuel before moored at Berth 6, Pier 1 on March 7.

March 28, The Kingsville moored at Berth 5, Pier 6 on Naval Base San Diego after a four-day underway in the SOCAL Op. Area; Moved to Berth 6, Pier 5 on April 10; Underway again from April 23-24.
